About Us
“The Foundation is the most important part of a structure”
We are the technical civil society of IIT Roorkee established in the year 1958. The group aims to build a platform for the enthusiasts of civil engineering to strive towards making advancements in Civil Engineering. We became the affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineering for a while but then decided to part ways and build the Civil Engineering Consortium which would be a combination of a technical and departmental group.

Every year we recruit 15 members to our group and train them to work in one of the specialities of Civil Engineering and participate in competitions taking place in and around India.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

An absolute icon of contemporary architecture of the nineties, the building of Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, located in Spain, features distorted and oblique volumes and sets an outlandish example of sculptural architecture. It sums up in itself merits and ambiguities of the new architectural languages in the years between the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the third Millennium. The building was an absolute responsibility of Gehry, who transfigured the building into a mythopoeic object which creates a completely new urban narrative.
